Hola Everyone!
So this week, not a whole lot happened because I actually had to travel 24, YES 24, hours in an autobus to Oaxaca. Oh, and don't worry. I didn't puke this time and I also had to travel alone. It was so dang weird being alone for the first time in a year! I had to go and renew my Visa. But, hey, that means that I've been out a year now and I literally can't believe how dang fast the time flies out here in the mission field. It's like I'm sitting here emailing you guys every other day. That's what it feel like anyway!!
It was so dang good to go back to Oaxaca and feel the good ol weather that's in the city. Because here it is absolutely insane. I don't think I've stopped sweating since I got here! I also got to see some of my best friends of the mission and we had such a good time talking about the mission and everything that has happened in the past year!
I just have to share a quick super funny story. So we were sitting there on the couches in the office just playing catch with a football and good ol Elder Reid from the MTC told us, "You know guys. I'm dying out here a little bit." He was referring to getting really tired. And then he said, "Ya, so today I woke up at 9 AM." I don't think I've laughed so hard in a super long time. We were dying laughing. Hahahahahaha!! Good times on the mission!
I absolutely love the mission - the good times and the bad - the ups and the downs. I have been so dang blessed through it all and I'm so excited to be able to finish this last year and see so many more miracles!! I know that I'm not perfect, but I know that when we are willing to do what's right, Heavenly Father will bless His children. I love you all so dang much and I hope you all have an amazing week!!!

Week 52 - 1 Year Down
Hola Everyone!
Well goodness, I’ve been out a year, but who’s counting? Well, I’m pretty sure my mom is at least (yes, she is!)! Ha ha. It’s been such an amazing year here in the mission field and I’m grateful for the chance that each and everyone of us has to serve our Heavenly Father!
We’ve been working really hard here and to be honest, this week has been quite disappointing - a lot of rejections. But we also found two families that seem to be so prepared to receive the gospel. It’s a pretty funny story. We were contacting and we came up to a house that was tiny and basically made of sheet metal. The family told us we could come in and so we sat down and starting talking with them. In minutes the brother pulled out a joint (this is the first time this has happened to me on my mission) and started smoking it. I think he got a little hungry, so he invited us to eat dinner with them, which was awesome and so dang nice of them. Anyway, we ate dinner with them and we went back about two days later and they had read the pamphlets that we gave them and we could see the desire that they had to change. What a blessing that was!
Anyway, I know that life isn’t always easy, but my goodness, when we do all that we can we surely will receive the help of the Lord. I know that because I have seen it so dang many times here in the mission. And I sure have felt my Savior’s love for me and for each and every single one of his children. I know that He loves us and that He gave us the gospel so that we could learn and grow and return and live with him again! I love you all so much and hope you have such an amazing week!

Week 51
Hola Everyone!
Goodness, it's been quite a week here, that is for sure. I've never felt so dang many ups and downs in my entire life than I have here in the mission!! It's quite a roller coaster ride that is for sure. But, hey, if you know me, you know that I LOVE roller coasters!! I had quite a few heart touching experiences that I would love to share with you all!!
So this week, I had the opportunity to baptize a couple. The family's name is the family Cortes Luna!! They're so dang awesome and I'm so dang happy for them!! Anyways, a little bit about their experience. About a month before their baptismal date, this family was just about to fall apart - literally so dang close. It was so bad that one day we were teaching the law of chastity and they both started crying and said they just couldn't do it as a family because they were always fighting and saying really mean things to each other. They never went out together or anything.
So that night, me and my companion felt that we needed to fast with them!! Anyways, this past week before their baptism, we were able to see such a dang change in their family. It was amazing. They started walking in the morning together and they changed so much. Anyways, Saturday we had their baptism and coming up out of the water, we all about started crying. I asked the brother how he felt and he told me that he felt so happy he wanted to cry!! What an amazing experience it was this week and the process of seeing this amazing family change. It's truly been such an amazing blessing!!
I know that life is so dang tough sometimes. It's definitely not easy here in the mission field either. But goodness, it sure is REWARDING when we're able to see someone enter into the waters of baptism and see the change that they've made in their lives!! I know that part of God's plan is that when we fall, we have to pick ourselves back up. But I know and have a testimony that we're NEVER alone in that process. Heavenly Father and his son are ALWAYS there for us with their hands stretched forth ready to pick us up!! Keep on keepin' on, as my Grandma Blake always says and I know that you will all be so blessed in your lives! Have an amazing week and know how dang much I love you all!!!!

Week 50
Hola Everyone!
My goodness. As I was reading the message my mom sent me, I couldn't help but almost cry. I have tears in my eyes and my heart and love goes out to every one of my family members that are passing through this extremely tough time. I want you all know that this is part of God's Plan for us. That we have to go through trials and tribulations and loss. The purpose of these trials and tribulations are to make us all stronger!! I want you all to know that I KNOW that my Uncle Eric is in a better place - A LOT better place. And I know that he has the opportunity to continue learning and growing on the other side. I also know that as we continue striving to do our best every single day, which clearly is possible, we WILL be able to see him again in a much better place! This gospel gives me so much hope and I hope as well that you can all feel the same!
I don't have much else to say this week. We are doing really good here in Oaxaca and it's such a blessing to be able to be serving other people and sharing the HOPE that this amazing message gives to ALL that are willing to accept it!! We will be having a baptism this week and I'm so dang excited and "contento" (happy) as we say here in Mexico! I know that as we fast and pray as did the missionaries in the Book of Mormon, we will have the spirit with us and we will grow in our faith. This church is true and we are ALL so blessed to know the truth. I love you all so much and my heart and love is with you all in this time of trial! Stay strong and rely on God. We are not strong enough to make it through this life without Him!
